Air pumps push air through a hose (Air line) to allow air to be distributed under water. Air pumps are used to provide extra aeration/circulation in ponds and, or filters to increase oxygen levels in the water. The higher oxygen levels can make filters more efficient, fish more active or provide some protection from poor water quality. Air pumps are particularly recommended on ponds with high stocking levels, on hot days or before thunder storms when the ability of the water to dissolve oxygen is reduced,
